The Erasmus Generation consists of thousands of people from very different cultures, countries, religions, and beliefs, but all connected by something bigger than that. We are young citizens. We are volunteers.
The ESN Solidarity Mechanism was an initiative coordinated by ESN Spain and its local sections to help international students get their stuff shipped back to their home countries at the end of the lockdown in Spain. Many of their international students had to leave the country very quickly at the beginning of the hardest part of the pandemic in Spain and left all their belongings there. Their local volunteers created a Google Form for every section/city, so that the students that needed it could ask for shipment. When they started receiving answers, the local volunteers started working in order to send all their belongings back home. They contacted their national partner DHL so that their students would have a special discount on the shipment. They adapted their services to the needs of the international students and did what we do best: students helping students.
